Auditions are on Friday, 6 November (evening) and Saturday, 7 November (morning/afternoon) at the Theatre Royal.

All auditionees will be required to sing, dance and act for the audition panel. Individual 10 minute slots for the singing and acting, and a group dance slot every 4 auditions.

1. Do I have to watch all of the video if I don't need to?
No, please watch as much you'd like or not like for your own dancing abilities. Rewind if you need or fast forward if you need. Everyone learns at different speeds so please do what works for you! Time stamps provided below will also be very helpful if you wanted to go over any particular sections or jump ahead.

3. You say fists and then penguin hands at the same time (around 8:07) - what does that mean?
I don't really know myself. My fingers are curled so they aren't completely flat like a penguin but they also aren't completely in a fist. Best name for this wins and if there is already a name then let me know!
4. When facing the back (around 2:48) you don't really look with your head even though in the breakdown video you said to look with your head - should I still look with my head?
Yes, please look with your head if you remember. A bit of a do as I say but not as I do. If you don't do it I will forgive you though!
5. I'm trying really hard but doing both legs and arms together is quite difficult - what do I do?
I always say to prioritise arms over legs when learning as they are harder to hide on stage. Just try your hardest and do what you can. We appreciate you trying more than anything!
6. Do I have to do the Waterloo dance at the audition?
Yes. This is a part of a super fun Megamix where the whole cast will be dancing so everyone is required to learn it for auditions.
7. Did you back into the door?
Yes I did🤣

1. Do I have to learn Dancing Queen?
You only have to learn the dance if you are auditioning for a Featured Dancer, Sophie, Ali, Lisa, Sky, Pepper or Eddie. No one will tell you to not dance it at auditions though so if you'd like to learn it for some extra fun - go for it!

3. I don't know any cool tricks for the last section - does it have to be a trick? What do I do?
Being a featured dancer is not all about being able to do a challenging trick. I want to see what you can bring to the Featured Dancer Squad so please show off what your strengths are. It might be a kick, spin, leap or choreography. The most important thing is making it work with the music and lyrics "You can dance!" And then "You can jive". So if you do have a special trick (or tricks so it goes with each 4 count) in mind - it might not simply be performing this trick and you are done. Think about how you are entering and finishing this trick off!
4. Did people walk past you whilst you videoed this?
Yes they did but I was kicking the wall in my apartment so it had to be done. At least when you perform it we will all be smiling and not looking at you weirdly like my audience🤣
